Associates Holiday Luncheon- "The Neurobiology of Self-Control"
About: Plan to attend our annual holiday luncheon at the Athenaeum! Dr. Rangel will discuss the situation of a dieter, fighting the temptation to have dessert and how this example of a self-control problem is a value-based decision for the individual. He will explain how the brain processes self-control problems, the neural computations necessary to exhibit self-control, and what is different about the brains of successful and unsuccessful self-controlers.
